We can describe a condenser swap or a furnace replacement all day, but there’s a reason Luis insists on sending a photo of the finished job before the crew rolls up the drop cloths. In Fort Worth, where attic installs get tight and summer punishes sloppy work, seeing the before and after is the only proof that matters. Here are a few real scenarios from recent Meadowsweet jobs, the way we’d walk you through them at your own kitchen table.

Furnace Replacement in a Wedgwood Hallway Closet
Before
AfterThe old 80% furnace had been wedged into a hallway closet since the mid-2000s, and the return drop was sweating through the drywall every July. We pulled the single-stage unit, rebuilt the return plenum with a sealed transition, and set a new two-stage furnace on a secondary drain pan with a float switch. The homeowner’s big worry was the hallway carpet, so we ran drop cloths from the front door to the closet and vacuumed the path before leaving. The after photo shows the closet door closed over a unit that now clears the ceiling by eleven inches and doesn’t rumble the hallway at startup.
AC Condenser Swap for a Tanglewood Home with a Failing Compressor
Before
AfterThe old R-22 condenser’s compressor had grounded out, and the homeowner had already been told by another company that the whole system needed to go. We confirmed the compressor failure but matched a new 16 SEER condenser to the existing evaporator coil, which tested clean under nitrogen. The before photo shows the original unit leaning on a cracked pad; the after shows a level composite pad, new whip, and a filter dryer brazed with nitrogen flowing. Total cost came in around $4,600, and we had cool air moving again that evening.
Attic AC Installation with New Duct in North Richland Hills
Before
AfterA customer called because two bedrooms never cooled below 80, and the attic inspection told the story: flex duct that had been chewed through and kinked over a decade of Texas heat. We replaced the full duct system with R-8 insulated runs, rehung with saddles instead of zip ties, and sealed every collar with mastic. The before photo shows the sagging, collapsed runs; the after shows straight lines and a plenum that actually holds pressure. The kids’ bedrooms now sit within two degrees of the thermostat, and the homeowners stopped running a window unit in the nursery.
Closet AC Air Handler Swap in a Fairmount Craftsman

Older Fairmount homes often have the air handler in an upstairs closet, and the original drain pan had rusted through, staining the ceiling below. We replaced the air handler with a unit sized to the home’s actual load, not the oversized one that had been there, and ran a new PVC drain line with a clean-out tee and a float switch. The before photo shows the rust bloom and the sagging secondary pan; the after shows a clean install with the homeowner’s painted wall untouched. We wore shoe covers up the narrow staircase and laid drop cloths over the runner, per the C.A.R.E. values on every job.
Package Unit Replacement on a Flat Roof in Como

Package units on flat Fort Worth roofs take direct sun and storm runoff, and this one in Como had a rusted cabinet and a heat exchanger with a visible crack. We ordered a new 14 SEER gas-electric package unit, replaced the roof curb, and re-flashed the penetration before setting the unit. The before photo shows the rotted cabinet corners; the after shows a new unit with a fresh disconnect and a re-sealed curb. The homeowner replaced the unit before winter, which matters because a cracked heat exchanger is a carbon monoxide risk, not just a comfort issue.
Ductless Mini-Split Install in a Detached Garage Office Near TCU

A customer working from home needed a cooled office but didn’t want the expense or dust of running duct to a detached garage. We installed a single-zone ductless mini-split with the condenser on a stand off the side wall and the indoor head on the interior wall, with line hide covering the refrigerant lines. The before photo shows a bare garage wall; the after shows a quiet unit that keeps the space at 72 through August. This was a one-day install, and the customer’s dog never had to be crated because the work stayed entirely in the garage.
